FAMILIAR FOES BATTLE FOR SPOT IN OCAA TITLE GAME

ETOBICOKE, ON: Semi-final number one on Saturday night will include two of the biggest rivals in the OCAA when the Humber Hawks take on the Sheridan Bruins at the OCAA Provincial Championships.

The two teams split the season series this year, with both teams winning at each other's home courts.

These two teams have kept it close in both matchups this year with the final result coming down to the final minute in both games.

In the two matchups both teams top players rose to the occasion and led their team to victory. In the first matchup Gibson Eduful led the Hawks to victory and in the second Dylan Periana led the Bruins.

This time around both teams needed to get past a couple tough matchups in order to face each other in the provincial semi finals.

Sheridan used a 27-point effort from Brian Owusu to get past the Niagara Knights Friday afternoon in a 79-69 win.

Dylan Periana also chipped in for the Bruins with a 17-pioint double double.

Humber on the other hand was able to take advantage of Gibson Edufuls 13-points as well as Tyrone Dickson's 14-rebound effort in a 80-68 win over the St. Lawrence Vikings.

Both teams are ranked in the top 10 in the CCAA rankings with Sheridan being no.3 and Humber being no.7.

Tip off is at 6 p.m. at the Humber North Campus.

All 2016 OCAA Championship games will be streamed live and later archived on our Humber Hawks YouTube page.  Admission is free for every game; however seats are limited and are available on a first-come first-serve basis.
