HAWKS DEFEAT SAULT FOR SECOND TIME THIS WEEKEND ON HOME COURT

ETOBICOKE, ON: The Humber Hawks men's basketball team have emerged victorious this afternoon against the Sault Cougars with a score of 83-53.

 

Humber's Jordan Rose scored the first two points for Humber kicking off a lead that would carry through the game. The Hawks went on to score 26 points in the first quarter, with the Cougars scoring 13. Humber continued to lead in the second quarter scoring a total of 19 points. Humber's defence was strong with the Cougars only managing four points by the end of the second.

 

The Sault cougars fought hard in the second half scoring 20 points in the third quarter and 16 in the fourth. Despite the effort they were no match for The Hawks who managed to score 29 points in the third quarter and 19 in the fourth. This brought the final score to 83-53 for Humber.

 

The player of the game was Humber's C.J Bennett. He single-handedly scored a total of 14 points through the course of the game.

 

Humber is currently tied for 5th in the Western division with a record of two wins and two losses. Sault will be looking for redemption next game as they are currently sitting in last with no wins and four losses.

 

The Hawks will be at Fanshawe for their next game on Saturday November 7th. Tip of is scheduled for 3:00pm.
