HAWKS HEAD TO HAMILTON LOOKING TO WIN FOURTH STRAIGHT

HAWKS HEAD TO HAMILTON LOOKING TO WIN FOURTH STRAIGHT

After starting the 2015-16 OCAA season with two losses, the Humber Hawks men's basketball team will now be looking to win four straight games when they take on the defending OCAA champions, the Mohawk Mountaineers on November 14th

The Hawks swept the season series last year against Mohawk, however the Mountaineers won when it mattered most.  At the provincial championships, Mohawk handed Humber only their second loss of the season, winning 84-74.  Toronto native Kenny Ejim led the Hawks in scoring during that loss, posting a team-high 22 points.

Humber would wind up getting the last laugh of the 2014-15 season by defeating VIU on Mohawks home court to win the CCAA gold medal, their first medal since 2010.

The Hawks are coming off a road win against the Fanshawe Falcons, narrowly escaping with a victory 67-66.  Fourth-year point guard Gibson Eduful led the Hawks with 16 points, shooting seven of 14 from the floor.  Ejim also collected 16 points in the win.

Mohawk has begun the season undefeated and currently find themselves ranked fifth in the latest CCAA rankings.  Their last game was on Halloween when they held their season opener, barely beating St. Clair 100-99 in OT.  Lamar Barr and Jeff Hunt paced Mohawk offensively, as they both recorded double-doubles.  Barr finished with 24 points and 12 rebounds, while Hunt collected 10 points with an impressive 20 rebounds.
