HUMBER SPORTS INCLUSION

LGBTQ+ inclusion is a revolution Athletics is an integral part of the collegiate experience in which students participate as athletes and spectators. Every student on a team or in the stands should have the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of college sports in an environment of respect and safety.

The Humber Department of Athletics is committed to an intercollegiate athletics experience in which student-athlete health and well-being are the highest priority. This commitment includes the physical, social and psychological health and well-being of students of all sexual orientations and gender identities/expressions.

We believe that the inclusive environment we strive to create at Humber enhances our community’s social and competitive experiences by promoting diversity of culture, race, religion, ability, sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.  Our goal is to provide a safe, welcoming recreation and athletic community that allows every member of our campus family to enjoy a positive, respectful, and inspiring experience with our programs and facilities.

Discrimination of any kind or intolerance of any level has no place within Humber Athletics, whether on the field, in the classroom, in the locker room or in the stands.

#HereToPlay Campaign

At Humber, every individual matters. In conjunction with the LGBTQ+ Resource Centre and the BASE, Humber has sought to establish and maintain an inclusive culture that fosters equitable participation for all. Humber Athletics is committed to providing an environment conducive to equal access and participation for student-athletes, staff and supporters of all gender identities and sexual orientation.

The #HereToPlay campaign was created to destigmatize preconceived notions about mental health and to promote inclusion.
