Honoured Jerseys
Thirty-two banners hang from the rafters of the North Campus Gym, honouring the top student-athletes, coaches and builders in Humber Varsity history. There is no higher honour than having your jersey honoured.
The names, listed in alphabetical order, reverberate in prestige. Though there are no ‘official’ criteria to have a jersey honoured at Humber, a player must achieve at a national level — earn National Player of the Year honours, set an OCAA record, win a gold medal at the CCAA or OCAA level, or earn All-Canada recognition. What distinguishes Humber’s honoured jersey players from many other schools is the main criteria. No jersey will be honoured at Humber unless the player has graduated.
George 'Iceman" McNeil was the first Hawk to be so honoured when his No. 44 was officially retired on February 3, 1988.
