ROAD GAME FOR THE HAWKS AGAINST TOP RANKED SHERIDAN

ROAD GAME FOR THE HAWKS AGAINST TOP RANKED SHERIDAN

ETOBICOKE, ON: The opening theme for the men's basketball team this season has been all about streaks.  The Hawks began the season losing two straight games on the road and then returned home to win three straight.  After dropping their last game on the road at Mohawk, the Hawks will be looking to prevent the start of another streak.

The 3-3 Humber Hawks will be on the road Thursday night, tasked with upsetting the second ranked team in the country, the Sheridan Bruins.  Sitting at a perfect 6-0, the Bruins have the highest scoring offence in the OCAA and are outscoring their opponents by an average of almost 20 points-per-game.

The Bruins only need one more win to tie their total from last season when they finished 7-11 and missed out on the playoffs.  Currently four starters are scoring in double-digits for Sheridan and Adam Elhereich is leading the way, averaging 16.5 points-per-game.

Men's assistant basketball coach James DePoe believes if the Hawks are going to win they "must compete and bring a high level of intensity."  Fourth-year point guard Gibson Eduful will need to continue his hot play of late as well.  The native of Toronto is averaging 17.5 points-per-game, good enough to be ranked ninth in the OCAA.

The last time these programs played at Sheridan, the Hawks came from behind to leave with the win.  Trailing the Bruins heading into the fourth quarter, the Hawks outscored Sheridan 28-18.  Curwin Elvis finished with a season-high 22 points in the win.
