No.2 HAWKS WRAP UP HOME SCHEDULE AGAINST CROSSTOWN RIVALS

ETOBICOKE, ON: Thursday evening will feature a marquee heavy weight matchup featuring two of the best programs in the country, when no. 4 Sheridan (13-3, 2nd West) visits the no. 2 Humber Hawks (13-3, 1st West).  Both teams enter the game with a combined 16 straight wins and only one team will walk away with their streak intact.

Sheridan features two of the best scorer's in the province with Brian Owusu and Dylan Periana, who are averaging 17.9 and 17.1 points-per-game respectively.  The Bruins fast paced offence has allowed them to string together six consecutive wins, after narrowly defeating Mohawk (12-3, 3rd West) on Saturday 105-102.  Owusu finished with a game-high 32 points in the win.

The defending national champions have locked up a bye to the provincial tournament, however they will not let up against their crosstown rivals Thursday.  Earlier in the season, the unranked Hawks went to Sheridan and defeated the CCAA's second ranked program, handing the Bruins their first loss of the season.  Second-year guard Curwin Elvis (Brampton) finished with a season-high 14 points in the win.

The west division's best defensive team was able to hold the Bruins to a season low 56 points without potentially the best defensive player in the province, Tyrone Dickson (Scarborough).  In only seven games, Dickson is ranked sixth in the league with 20 blocks.
