HAWKS AND FALCONS LOOK TO MAKE UP FOR SLOW START

HAWKS AND FALCONS LOOK TO MAKE UP FOR SLOW START

LONDON, ON: The Humber Hawks and Fanshawe Falcons men's basketball teams are both off to unusual slow starts to the 2015 season. The two teams will meet for the first time this season on Saturday afternoon in London, with the winner moving in the right direction and the loser being saddled with their third loss very early in the season. The tip is set for 3:00 pm, from the Fanshawe College Athletic Centre.

Humber loss both games on the opening swing trip of the season, but rallied this past weekend at home with two wins over Sault College to even their record at 2-2. The Falcons are still searching for win number one, and check in with a mark of 0-2.

Fanshawe boasts two of the league's leading scorers with Ousmane Kromah and Connor Therrien. Kromah checks in with an average of 23.5 points per game, and Therrien with a solid average of 20.5 ppg. The Hawks, known for their share the ball and the scoring game plan, see three players tied with an average of 17 ppg, in Vule Grujic, Gibson Eduful and Kenny Ejim.

Defensively has been the Fanshawe squad's Achilles heel, surrendering an average of 84 points per game. Humber, normally very stingy, have not been as sharp as expected and have given up a mark of 70 ppg.

The key factor in this game is Humber's historically poor shooting performances in the Falcons nest. Should this occur again, the Hawks could be in for a very long day. If Humber is able to score early and control the game, they would put Fanshawe in a very big hole at 0-3.
