HAWKS CONTINUE ON ROLL WITH DOMINATING WIN OVER FANSHAWE

ETOBICOKE, ON: The Humber Hawks had victory on the mind this afternoon as they dominated the Fanshawe Falcons. With a final score of 88-60 the Hawks have now extended their win streak to five games.

The Hawks leapt to an early lead, scoring 10 points within the first four minutes of gameplay. Humber fought hard, not once letting the Falcons take the lead. The first quarter ended with a score of 21-14 for the Hawks.

The Hawks maintained their momentum through the second quarter scoring another 18 points bringing the score to 39-27, heading into the second half. The Falcons pushed back hard but the Hawks were unrelenting, refusing to let Fanshawe back into the game.

Fanshawe scored the first point of the second half but Humber did not let this deter them as they continued to dominate the court. The Hawks displayed great teamwork throughout the course of the game. The ball seemed to fly across the court passing fluidly between each team member. By the end of the third quarter the Hawks were in the lead by 18 points, with a score of 62-44.

The Hawks came into their own at the beginning of the fourth quarter sinking basket after basket, and lighting up the scoreboard. Michael Kayeye of Humber scored the final points of the game with an incredible three pointer. The final score of the game was 88-60 for the Humber Hawks.

The Hawks nation player of the game was Michael Kayeye. He was Humber's highest scorer managing an impressive 17 points. Tyrone Dickson and Brayden Gohn also had impressive scores with 15 and 10 points, respectively.

This win brings Humber's record up to eight wins and three losses, as well as extending their winning streak to five games. Fanshawe's loss leaves them squarely in last with 11 losses and no wins.

Up next for the Hawks are two away games against Cambrian College on January 23rd and 24th.

The Hawks will be on the home court again January 30th in a match against St. Clair. Tip-off is scheduled at 6:00pm, and will take place at the Humber Athletics Centre.
