No.11 HAWKS LOOK TO EXTEND WIN STREAK SATURDAY

ETOBICOKE, ON: Coming off an upset win over no.4 Mohawk Mountaineers (9-1, 1st West), the no.11 Humber Hawks men's basketball (7-3, 2nd West) team is set to battle the Fanshawe Falcons (0-10, 10th West) Saturday, January 16th

A year removed from a 13-5 season and late round loss in the OCAA playoffs, the Falcons have run into difficulties getting a win this season.

All-Canadian candidate Gibson Eduful (Toronto) has led the Hawks during their four-game win-streak, scoring in double-digits every game this season.  The CCAA All-Star is leading the league with 3.2 steals-per-game, while sitting in third after averaging 5.4 assists-per-game.  During their streak, the Hawks have beaten three nationally ranked programs.

Over their last eight meetings, the Hawks are 6-2 against Fanshawe, including a 3-1 record at home.  The last time the Falcons were able to win at the Humber Athletic Centre was back in 2012, when they came away in a thrilling 97-94 double overtime win.  Matthew Marshall had a game-high 28 points for the Hawks in the loss.

When these two teams matched up in November, the short-handed Hawks were able to steal a win at the Glenn Johnston Athletic Centre.  With two minutes left in the game, Humber was able to overcome a nine point deficit and secure their third victory of the season.  Second-year guard Matthew Bukovec (Toronto) scored a game-high 16 points to held the Hawks secure the win.
