TOP RANKED BRUINS HEADING TO HUMBER

ETOBICOKE, ON: On Saturday evening the no. 4 Sheridan Bruins (4-0, 1st West) will be arriving at the Humber Athletic Centre to play the no. 13 Humber Hawks (1-1, 5th West) in one of the most anticipated games of the OCAA season.

Fresh off a fourth quarter collapse on the road at Niagara College (2-1, 3rd West), the Hawks fell five spots in the national rankings after beginning the season ranked eighth in the country.  With an eight point lead and ten minutes remaining in the game, Humber's offence went ice cold and was only able to manage a season-low eight points as Niagara completed the comeback, winning 71-66.

In one of the greatest rivalries college athletics has to offer, the Bruins enter this game as one of the top offensive units in the OCAA.  Sheridan has twice scored 110 points in a game this season and is averaging a league best 92.5 points-per-game.  Former Ryerson Ram Ostap Choliy is leading the way for the Bruins and is currently tied for seventh in league in scoring, averaging 19 points-per-game.

5. Humber 72.5 44.4 36.7 61.1 47.0 16.5

The last time these two programs met at the Humber Athletic Centre, the Hawks beat Sheridan 85-75 in overtime of the OCAA semi-finals.  Tyrone Dickson (Scarborough) finished with ten points and 14 rebounds in the win, while Dylan Periana had a game-high 34 points for the Bruins in the loss.

Over their last eight regular season meetings, the series is notched at four wins each.  The Bruins squeaked out a 75-74 win last season at the Humber Athletic Centre and have a 2-2 record against Humber on the road dating back to 2012.

All Hawks home games are free to the public and also streamed live online.  If you are unable to attend Saturday's game against Sheridan, scroll down to the bottom of the home page and click on the "WATCH NOW" link or click here.
