HAMILTON, Ont -- 42 points from the bench helped the no. 7 Humber Hawks men's basketball (10-3, 2nd West) program cruise to an 89-77 win over the Mohawk Mountaineers (4-8, 7th West).
The Hawks, playing in their second game in three days, had 11 players score in the game to record their ninth win in their last 10 games.
Fifth-year forward Ancil Martin finished with a game-high 21 points for Humber, while Tyrone Dickson recorded his eighth double-double of the season. Dickson finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
Mohawk guard Matt Elcock began the game with a couple quick three's to the give the Mountaineers a lead they would hold on to for the entire first quarter.
A better defensive effort from the Hawks in the second helped Humber take a lead they would not relinquish for the rest of the game.
Humber saw 12 players see action in the contest with freshman Chris Fields establishing a new career-high with six rebounds in just 11 minutes of action.
Fresh off their lowest shooting performance of the season, the Hawks converted just under 50 per cent for the game, including 44 points in the paint.
Jaelin Bailey scored 19 points for Mohawk, which shot 39.4 per cent as a team and lost their sixth consecutive game. Kareem Collins, Mohawk's leading scorer, was held to a season-low six points on 2-9 shooting from the floor.
The Hawks will now have a week off before they head on the road to take on the no. 1 Sheridan Bruins (10-0, 1st West) in the 116th edition of The Game. Tip-off is set for 6pm.
