HAWKS BECOME FIRST COLLEGE TEAM EVER TO WIN NAISMITH CLASSIC

WATERLOO, ON: For the first time in this prestigious men's basketball tournament, hosted by the University of Waterloo, a college team has captured the championship title. The Humber Hawks swept its way to the crown by way of three straight tournament wins, the final was an 80-68 win over UQAM.

On Thursday, the Hawks knocked of the University of Manitoba by a score of 82-71, and then followed up with a tight 76-74 come-from-behind win over the host Warriors from the University of Waterloo.

Tyrone Dickson was the unanimous selection for tournament MVP.

Humber will now entertain the Carroll University Pioneers on Monday afternoon at the Humber Athletic Centre. The Pioneers are a NCAA – D3 team out of Wisconsin.
