FOURTH QUARTER WOES CONTINUE TO PLAGUE HAWKS

ETOBICOKE, ON:  Seniors Tyrone Dickson (Scarborough) and Ancil Martin (Scarborough) combined for 30 points, but it wasn't enough for the Hawks as Humber (1-2, 6th West) dropped a 79-74 decision to no. 3 Sheridan College (5-0, 1st West) Saturday night.

Tyrone Dickson recorded his second double-double of the season, finishing with 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Ancil Martin added a team-high 16 points in 30 minutes of action against the Bruins.

Humber jumped out to an early lead but the CCAA's third ranked program consistently found ways to prevent the Hawks from gaining any kind of momentum.  In a game that saw 15 lead changes and 12 ties, it was not surprising that both teams were locked at 58 after 30 minutes of play.

After squandering an eight point lead in their previous loss to Niagara, Humber's fourth-quarter woes continued against the Bruins. With a lead and less than five minutes left to play, Humber's offence once again went ice cold, missing multiple open looks.  The Hawks shot one for 12 from behind the 3-point line in the second half, while also missing five free throws.

Second-year guard C.J. Bennett (Brampton) finished with a season-high 15 points for Humber in the loss.

Humber will look to get back in the win column next weekend when they head to Sault College (0-6, 9th West) for a weekend doubleheader.
