CEEJAY NOFUENTE - HUMBER HAWKS FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE YEAR

ETOBICOKE, ON: Ceejay Nofuente continues to cement her legacy as the one of the greatest student-athletes to ever wear the blue and gold. In her third season with the Hawks, Nofuente led Humber to an OCAA record 45 straight CCAA wins.

After an incredible 2015–16 season that saw Nofuente become the first Hawk to ever win the National Player of the Year award, the five-foot-eight point guard brought her game to an unprecedented level to win the prestigious award once again. Nofuente finished fifth in the nation in scoring with an average of 21.9 points, while leading in assists (124) and steals (101). The Toronto native's steal and assist totals were new OCAA records; making her the first student-athlete to finish with 100-plus assists and stealas in a season.

The two-time All-Canadian had several signature performances throughout the season, seizing the provincial spotlight with a 55-point outburst in Humber's 92–62 win over Redeemer on January 11. A few weeks later, Nofuente became Humber's all-time leading scorer, surpassing Hall of Famer Beth Latendresse's career mark of 784 points.
