No. 1 HAWKS WELCOME LAMBTON SATURDAY AFTERNOON

ETOBICOKE, ONT: The no. 1 program in the country returns to the Humber Athletic Centre Saturday afternoon to host the Lambton Lions (2-4, 7th West) for their first meeting of the 2016-17 OCAA season.  After a weekend sweep of the Sault Cougars (0-8, 10th West), the Hawks have begun the season 5-0 and have extended their win-streak against OCAA opponents to 42 consecutive games. 

After opening the season with two straight wins, the Lions have fell on hard times and are currently in the midst of four-game losing streak.  Their last loss came to the no. 8 Mohawk Mountaineers (5-1, 3rd West) 78-52.  Madisyn Campbell finished with a game-high 14 points in the loss, while Christine Fleisher recorded her third double-double of the season, finishing with 13 points and 12 rebounds.  Campbell is currently ranked 12th in the province in scoring, averaging 15.2 points-per-game.

The Hawks have three student-athletes currently averaging double-digits in scoring this season, including new Humber guard Leticia Lopez (Toronto).  Through her first five games this season, Lopez is averaging 10.6ppg, including an impressive 45.5 percent (10/22) from three-point range.
