HAWKS RUN TABLE IN MONTREAL TO WIN DAWSON CLASSIC

MONTREAL, QC: The Humber Hawks, the number one ranked team in the country, once again showed why they hold the top spot in the nation as they won five straight games on their way to the Dawson Winter Classic title.

For the second time in the tournament, they knocked off the Montmorency Nomades to grab the 2017 crown. The final was a 70-67 overtime win for the Etobicoke based Hawks.

Throughout the tournament, where they finished with a perfect 5-0 record, they defeated three CCAA ranked teams: Dawson – 4th, Montmorency – 5th, Ste-Foy – 15th.

In the final, Ceejay Nofuente led the way with her 26 point effort. Aleena Domingo and Leticia Lopez were also in double figures, with 15 and 11 points, respectively.

Over the course of the event, a number of Hawks were honoured for their efforts.

The Hawks will start the second half of their OCAA season on Wednesday night at home against the Redeemer Royals.
