AMBER BECHARD: REPORTING FROM BARCELONA, SPAIN
Hola!
Today is game day! We started our early morning off by meeting down in the lobby and eating breakfast as a team. On our way to the gym Aleena had her usual pre-game music playlist on blast getting everyone on the bus pumped up for our game. Once we got to the gym we went through our regular warm-up with T and got ourselves focused.
During the pre game talk we had a good understanding of what our opponent was about. We knew that if we played well and competed we had a good shot at winning. We started off with a 12-0 run but throughout the 2nd quarter they seemed to make their way back, eventually tying the game up. We came out after halftime determined and we got the job done. The final score was 74-48.
After the game we had the rest of the afternoon off. I personally was tired and took a long nap that was much needed. Adjusting to the time change has been difficult and all our basketball has been in the mornings. Some of my teammates went shopping and grabbed a bite to eat at a nearby restaurant.
We are meeting in the lobby at 6:30pm to go out for our last team dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe. The tour guide Oscar has been great and his company W2A Management is hosting us for the dinner. I am looking forward to eating great food and spending tonight with my teammates and coaching staff.
