AMBER BECHARD: REPORTING FROM BARCELONA, SPAIN
Hola!
Today we completed our game tour here in Barcelona with another win! The final score was 74-64 over Lima Horta. We got into foul trouble early on in the game and struggled with some really bad calls from the referees, but we were able to keep our composer and push through it. Everyone was able to get lots of playing time and contribute to our 2-1 record here in Spain.
Coach Ajay had this to say after the game, "it was a pleasure to experience Barcelona with an incredible group of players and coaches but bittersweet as it was the last time our coaching staff will be able to coach our seniors, Llyandra Kerr, Ruth Holland, Natalie Hagopian and Mary Asare".
Today is our last night in Spain. Some of the players will be extending their trip and traveling to other places in Europe. The rest of us will be heading home tomorrow morning. I can't believe how fast this trip went by. It feels like it was just yesterday when I was home packing and getting excited to come to Barcelona!
After our game we had the rest of the day off. A group of us walked down to the markets and experienced tasting some fresh fruits, cheese and meat. After walking through the market I grabbed a quick bite to eat and headed out to do some more shopping. The shopping here is amazing!!!
I am back at the hotel packing my suitcase now and wondering how I'm going to bring everything back home as my suitcase was already .5 kg over on the way here.
Tonight is going to be a fun night with the team. We are looking forward to spending our last night together in Barcelona!
