HAWKS ROLL TO 74-64 WIN IN SPAIN FINALE
BARCELONA, SPAIN: The Humber Hawks women's basketball team rolled to victory in their final game in Spain, a 74-64 win over Lima Horta. Lima Horta is a professional Division 2 level team.
With the win, the Hawks complete the historical road trip with a record of 2-1. They opened the excursion with a loss to Sant Adria, but then rebounded with a huge 74-48 win over CTEIB.
Tuesday's game was tight early, with Humber and the host squad tied at 24 after the first quarter. The offense continued to shine, and the defense kicked in, propelling the Hawks to a 47-36 lead at the break. After an almost even third quarter, it was Humber that scored a single point better, and led by twelve. Lima Horta won the fourth quarter, but it was the visiting Humber squad that prevailed by a final score of 74-64.
The group will be arriving back in Canada on Wednesday evening, and then start preparing for the defence of their 2016 OCAA and CCAA crowns.
