No. 1 HAWKS LOOK TO EXTEND WIN STREAK AT SHERIDAN

BRAMPTON, Ont. -- Only five games remain in the 2016-17 OCAA season and Saturday afternoon the no. 1 Humber Hawks (13-0, 1st West) will be on the road to wrap up their season series with the Sheridan Bruins (2-10, 8th West).

LAST TIME OUT vs SHERIDAN

In their third game of the fall semester, the Hawks cruised to an 80-38 win over Sheridan at the Humber Athletic Centre.  All-Canadian Ceejay Nofuente recorded her second career triple-double in the win, finishing with 16 points, 19 rebounds, and 12 assists.  The 38 points was the lowest total the Bruins have scored this season.

STREAKING

  • The Hawks have won an OCAA record 37 consecutive CCAA regular and postseason games.
  • Humber has also won 50 consecutive OCAA regular and postseason games, the second longest streak in conference history.  The Algonquin Thunder won 67 consecutive OCAA games from November 5, 2011 until January 15, 2015, a span of 1,167 days.

TRENDING

  • Despite failing to score 75 points or more in three straight games, the Hawks feature the highest scoring offence in the conference and are averaging 77.6 points-per-game.
  • Humber has knocked in five-plus threes in all 13 games this season.
  • Humber has won 22 consecutive OCAA road games – last loss was November 2014 to St. Clair College.
  • Ceejay Nofuente is currently leading the CCAA in total assists (99) and steals (78). She is also fourth in scoring average with 21.8 ppg.
  • Humber has won six consecutive games against Sheridan.

SCOUTING SHERIDAN

  • The Bruins have lost five of their last six games.
  • Sheridan has three players who combine for the majority of their scoring.  Samantha Lovat, Theresa Brown, and Liana Rose Villegas average 11.9, 10.8, and 10.2 points-per-game, respectively.
  • The Bruins are the only west division team that has a winning record against Humber, currently sitting at 13-11 all-time.
  • The Bruins have won three OCAA championships, all coming between 2007-10.

HAWKS HISTORY

  • After establishing new OCAA single game records for points (55) and three-pointers made (13) earlier this month, Ceejay Nofuente became the program's all-time leading scorer Wednesday night.
  • Aleena Domingo is now the fifth Humber women's basketball player to score 700-plus points in a career.
  • Head coach Ajay Sharma currently became the third women's coach to surpass 100 career wins and currently sits at 105 wins and 21 losses.
