HAWKS SWEEP OF SENECA CLINCHES A PLAY-OFF SPOT

ETOBICOKE, ON: The Humber Hawks men's baseball team and the Seneca Sting have played twice this year, with both being tight affairs, which the Hawks won. On Tuesday night at Connorvale Park in Etobicoke, the Hawks flexed their muscles on their way to two wins by the mercy route. The first game produced a 13-3 result, while the second ended at 10-0. Both games ended after six innings.

Brandon Catena was the winning pitcher in Game One, and was selected as the Humber Player of the Game for his efforts.

The Game Two win went to Andrew Blakey, with support from Brandon Habibi. Kenneth Hahnfield, who homered to open the sixth, was the Hawk Player of the Game.

With the wins, the Hawks record moves to 11-6 on the season, which puts them alone in second place. They are guaranteed to play a 2-3 game in the play-offs, but are still a win or two away from clinching a home game.

Humber will now host George Brown on Wednesday night at Connorvale for a single game, with a 7:00 pm first pitch.
