HAWKS SCORE EARLY AND HOLD OFF STING FOR 6-3 WIN

NORTH YORK, Ontario: The Humber Hawks men's baseball team dropped behind after one, but then raced out to a lead and rode it home for a 6-3 road win over the Seneca Sting. With the win, the Hawks bettered their regular season record to 4-3.

Seneca held a slim 1-0 lead after the first, but the Hawks answered with one of their own in the second to tie it up. Hawk starter Brandon Habibi then struck out the side in the bottom of the second. The first turning point was in the third, when Humber scored three times to take control of the game. They then extended their lead to 6-2 in the fourth.

Habibi went 3 2/3 innings, with a line of six strikeouts and four walks, and three runs given up. He was replaced by Matt Stoddart, who got the last out of the fourth.

The 6-3 score at the end of four held steady through the rest of the game.

Brandon Habibi was credited with the win, and Stoddart, who went the rest of the way nabbed the save.
