HAWKS ON ROAD WEDNESDAY IN SEARCH OF 4TH STRAIGHT WIN

TORONTO, Ontario: The Humber Hawks men's baseball team, currently securely placed in second in the division, will look to extend its winning streak to four games on Wednesday night. The Seneca Sting will be the hosts for this single-game affair, which will take place at Wishing Well Park. The first pitch is slated to be tossed at 7:00 pm.

The two teams met a week ago, with the Hawks winning by a 6-3 score, in a game that was very tight from start to finish.

Although Seneca is 1-7 on the year, they have shown great improvement and will be a tough opponent on every night they play this season. The Hawks check in at 6-3, just off a two fine outings where they swept away the Durham Lords.

Seneca players populate the 9th, 13th and 16th spots in league batting leaders, led by Chris Leslie and his .421 batting average. Hawks shortstop Sean Mattson has vaulted to the number two spot in the league by way of his .478 average.

It is the pitching that has separated these two squads. Seneca's Mathew Chow is tops on the Sting hurlers list, with an ERA of 3.18 The Hawks place three pitchers in the top five in the league, led by Andrew Blakey and his mark of 2.15.

This is a key game for both teams. A win for the Sting would put them in the post-season talk, and a victory for Humber is of vast importance, especially with four games this coming weekend.
