The women's volleyball team had their final win of the weekend against the Cambrian Golden Shield on Sunday January 31, 2016.

Going into the match, Humber was focusing on serving tough and passing well to be able to execute against Cambrian's strong defense.

Cambrian is second in the league in service aces following Humber so serve receive was going to be an asset to the Hawk's success.

Humber started off slow struggling to establish a flow of game and passing was struggling.

Cambrian was executing defensively, making the rallies long and forcing Humber to focus in order to succeed.

The final score of the first set was 25-20 for Humber.

Captain Thalia Hanniman is still out on injury, but has been watching very closely to help the team improve, "We need to work on starting the game off strong, and getting the intensity going right from the start. We always finish well, but if we want to be successful at the next level we need to be working right from the start." said Hanniman.

Humber passed well better during the second set and served much tougher allowing Cambrian to give them more free balls and giving Humber an opportunity to transition their free balls.

Near the end of the second set starting libero Kyla Wilkins left the game on injury and the Hawks had to finish strong.

The second set had a final score of 25-18.

With a slightly different lineup the Hawks came out strong in the third set and Cambrian called a time out at 5-0 for Humber.

The Hawks continued to push and with good offense and tough serving managed to keep Cambrian to a 10 point total with the final score of 25-10 for Humber.

Humber will play against Redeemer next Saturday in Ancaster.
