HAWKS VOLLEYBALL TEAMS CONTINUE MAKING MAGIC
ETOBICOKE, ON: The Humber Hawks men's and women's volleyball teams celebrated Christmas early on Friday night, and the big winners are the kids who will have unexpected special gifts under their tree soon.
This celebration, which began almost twenty years ago, is all about giving. Each athlete, coach and manager of the two teams buy a "Secret Santa" gift for a teammate, a gift they think the person would have wanted or played with as a kid.
The gifts will now be assembled, and given to a number of charities.
A Special Story....
Last year a number of toys were delivered to a local school, one that the organizers knew had a special need during the Christmas season.
A small child walked into the office, and stood in awe of the gifts in front of him.
The teacher in the office politely said that maybe one of the gifts were for him.
He just shyly dropped his head, and said "No, we don't get presents at Christmas", and then walked away.
Little did he know that this was the year that Santa would be paying his house a visit!!!
