VOLLEYBALL TEAMS HEAD NORTH FOR PRE-SEASON ACTION
NORTH BAY, Ontario: Humber's women's and men's volleyball teams will be heading to North Bay this weekend to get their first taste of pre-season volleyball.
The women will get three matches in, two against the OUA Nipissing Lakers and a single against the OCAA Canadore Panthers. The interesting note to this story is that the distance between the two schools is only a matter of feet, as they share the same campus.
Nipissing moved to the OUA two years ago, and prior to that they were a continuous force in the OCAA. The Hawks and Lakers faced each other seven out of eight years in the final, with Humber winning six times. Canadore made a huge leap forward last year, placing second in the East Division.
The men's squad, totally revamped from last year, and without perennial All Canadian Terrel Bramwell will be tested as they step on the court for the first time as a group. Nipissing won the CCAA National Championship before moving on to the OUA two years ago, and should be a formidable opponent.
