PERENNIAL OCAA POWERHOUSES GET SET FOR SECOND SHOWDOWN OF SEASON

ETOBICOKE, ON:  Wednesday's showdown between Humber and Mohawk is setting up to be quite the matchup, as the provinces two hottest teams will clash at the Humber Athletic Centre. Winners of nine straight to begin the OCAA season, the Hawks are currently ranked second in the country and own the provinces highest scoring offence.

Through the first nine games of the season, third-year point guard Ceejay Nofuente has been absolutely dominant and has become an early frontrunner to be named an All-Canadian. Averaging 14.6 ppg and 10.2 rpg, the Toronto native is one of four student-athletes in the OCAA to average a double-double this season.  The Recreation and Leisure major is also averaging 7.0 apg, which is best in the province.

After a slow start to the 2015-16 season, the Mountaineers have strung together five straight wins and are currently tied for second in the competitive OCAA west division. During their winning streak, Mohawk has been outscoring their opponents by an average score of 27 points-per-game.

In their last eight games, Humber is 7-1 against Mohawk with an average winning margin over ten points-per-game.  Earlier in the season, the Hawks came away 52-43 win in Hamilton, receiving almost half their team total from their two all-star guards.  Natalie Hagopian (Thornhill) and Mary Asare (Brampton) both finished with 12 points, while Ceejay Nofuente had 11 points and 13 rebounds.
