HAWKS MAINTAIN FOUR GAME WINNING STREAK WITH 93-48 WIN

ETOBICOKE, ON: The Humber Hawks women's basketball team have defeated the Sault Cougars for the second time this weekend. The team will continue their four game winning streak after this 93-48 victory.

 

Humber soared to an early lead in the first quarter with seven points scored in the first two minutes of game play. By the end of the quarter the team had managed an impressive 26 points. Sault did their best to keep up but quickly fell behind only managing to score 13 points. The Hawks scored another 19 in the second quarter. Sault scored 8 points.

 

By half-time the Hawks were already leading by 24 points. The gap in scores widened even further during the third quarter with the Hawks scoring an incredible 28 points. The Cougars did their best to try and narrow the gap managing to score a total of 17 points through the course of the quarter. The Hawks finished off the game scoring another 20 points in the fourth and final quarter. By this point Sault's moral was running low. They managed to score 10 more points by the end of the game leading to a final score of 93-48 for the Hawks.

 

All the Humber team members put their best foot forth this afternoon with a great defence and fantastic passing. Natalie Hagopian was Humber's Player of the Game, managing to single handedly score 27 points.

 

Humber is currently leading in the western division with a record of four wins and no losses. Sault will be looking to redeem themselves next game as they are currently on a losing streak having lost every one of their four games.

 

The Hawks will be at Fanshawe for their next game on Saturday November 7th. Tip of is currently scheduled for 1:00pm.
