REIGNING PROVINCIAL CHAMPS ANNOUNCE ADDITION OF FELICIA VELASQUEZ

Fresh off a Provincial Title and with nearly the entire roster set to return for the 2015-16 season, the Women's Basketball Team reigned in one of the provinces most sought after recruits in Felicia Velasquez Thursday night.

The Hawks are coming off an incredible season, one that saw them dominate Ontario to the tune of a 20-1 record and outscore opponents by over twenty points a game. Velasquez's addition should fit seamlessly with what is already a deep, talented back-court. Humber's trio of Ceejay Nofuente, Mary Asare and Natalie Hagopian combined to average nearly thirty-two points a game, ten assists and provide heady defense for one of the countries stingiest units.

Velasquez arrives via Notre Dame High School, where she put together one of the greatest careers in the programs history. Highlights from her time as a Knight include winning Athlete of the Year in her senior season and incredibly being named the Team's MVP in each of her years. She also cites a career high 44 point outburst among her favourite High School memories.

The 5'3" Brampton native moulds her game after Stephen Curry and Chris Paul; she says watching them, along with music, are what get her in the zone and ready to play. Humber's coaching staff and the programs winning tradition are what brought her to the Hawks, and she should have a big impact in her freshmen season. Coming off an exciting season, her addition is a big one for a team that rightly has National aspirations.
