HAWKS ON ROAD SATURDAY TO FACE FALCONS IN LONDON

LONDON, ON: The Humber Hawks women's basketball team, undefeated and on a roll early in the season, will face its toughest test to date on Saturday afternoon in London against the Fanshawe Falcons. The tip, from the Fanshawe College Athletic Centre, is 1:00 pm.

The host Falcons are the only other undefeated team in the West Division, checking in with a 2-0 record. Humber has played four games, winning them all in comfortable fashion.

The only common opponent for both teams is the Lambton Lions, and both teams routed the Sarnia based team by more than 30 points.

Early in the season both teams are scoring at a torrid pace, with the Hawks averaging 90 points per game and the Fanshawe squad with an impressive mark of 80 ppg. Both teams feature a balanced offensive attack, with multiple players contributing in team scoring. Llyandra Kerr leads Humber with an average of 16.8 ppg, followed by Sasha Bertusa and her 15.0 ppg. Ali Vlasman leads Fanshawe with an average of 14.5 ppg. Jacoby Sanchez is the only other Falcon in double figures, at 10.0 ppg.

Defensively, the two teams are in a virtual tie, allowing teams to score under 50 points per game.

Fanshawe, at home in London, are always tough. And, with a talented team they put on the floor Saturday it will take everything the Hawks have to snare a tough road win.
