HAWKS VICTORIOUS IN OCAA TITLE GAME REMATCH AT MOHAWK

HAMILTON, ON: The Humber Hawks women's basketball team added a win to their undefeated record, and now sit at the top of the OCAA West Division standings with a record of 6-0. The OCAA game of the night, a 52-43 road win for the Hawks, was a rematch of the 2015 OCAA title game between Humber and the Mohawk Mountaineers.

The Hawks displayed their depth, as stars Aleena Domingo and Ruth Holland were unavailable for duty on this night.

Humber ran out to a lead early, and even though the host Mountaineers put together a couple of solid quarters, the lead was never in jeopardy.

At the end of the first quarter, it was an eight point Hawk lead at 16-8. Mohawk brought it back to a four point lead, but Humber made those points up and led by that same eight margin at halftime. The third quarter is where the game was basically put to rest, as the Hawks outscored the host team sixteen to nine to push the lead to 43-29. Mohawk responded in the fourth, but as the final whistle blew it was a nine point win for the visitors.

Humber will take to the court next Thursday, as they will travel to Brampton to play the Sheridan Bruins.
