HAWKS CONTINUE THREE GAME WINNING STREAK AT HOME COURT

ETOBICOKE, ON: The Humber Hawks women's basketball team continued their winning streak in an overwhelming victory against the Sault Cougars. The defending OCAA champions fought hard and managed a final score of 91-35 for the Hawks.

 

Humber began the game strong in the first quarter, Ceejay Nofuente helped the team to an early lead scoring the first basket. With strong a strong defence and fantastic offence Humber went on score a total of 24 points in the first quarter. Sault managed to score a total of eight.

 

Humber continued their strong lead in the second quarter scoring another 20 points. Sault continued fighting hard managing another eight bringing the score to 44-16 for Humber at half-time.  Humber did not loose any momentum moving into the second half. The third quarter saw the team score 24 points. Sault scored another 10 points bringing the score to 68-26 for Humber. Going into the final quarter with a strong lead, the Hawk's player's confidence seemed at an all time high. Humber scored 23 points and Sault scored 9 in the fourth quarter bringing the game to a close with a final score to 91-35 for the hawks.

 

Humber played a great game, the player's teamwork and skill were clear throughout the game. All team members seemed confident and clear-headed, passing well and making excellent shots.

 

Humber is currently leading in the western division with a record of three wins and no losses. Sault will be looking to redeem themselves next game as they are currently last in the division with no wins and three losses.

 

Humber will be playing Sault again tomorrow, Sunday, November 1st at the Humber Athletic Centre. Tip off is scheduled for 1:00pm.
