LAST TIME OUT

Humber knocked off the Niagara Knights in four sets, on the road in Welland on Thursday night. Although playing with a short line-up due to injury and sickness, they rallied to win and keep their perfect season intact. Brynne Spence-Coleman and Breanna Golding finished with 18 and 16 points each.

LAST TIME OUT VS CONESTOGA

The Hawks did quick work in a straight-set win over the visiting Condors (25-6, 25-18, 25-16). Conestoga seemed to have no answer for the Hawks attack. All twelve Humber players played in the game, and ten of them scored. Jasmine Lougheed led the way with 13 points (6K, 5A, 2B)

SCOUTING CONESTOGA

  • Conestoga has never beaten Humber in the 15 all-time meetings between the two squads
  • As expected with their 1-10 record, they rank low in most team statistical categories, topping out at 13th in digs (416) and digs per set (11.56)
  • Karis Mapp has been a shining star for them, as she checks in with a mark of 3.0 points per set average. Lorena Tasedan is the only other Condor to have an average above the 2.0 mark
  • Jessica Patterson has carried the setting load, and has amassed 206 assists on the season

HAWK NOTES

  • Humber's coaching staff will be able to have a good look at their depth on Sunday, as with a few injuries and sickness, many players will get significant touches in the match
  • Updated stats were not available at press time, but it is safe to say that the Hawks still rank among the best in every team category
  • Breanna Golding continues to lead the team offensively, and is supported by a number of high scoring teammates
  • Celine Blanchette was the setter of choice on Thursday at Niagara, and should return to the court to build on her team-leading assist mark

HISTORY WATCH

  • Head coach Chris Wilkins continues to set all-time Humber coaching marks with every victory, a mark that has now reached 328
  • Devan O'Connor is the highest-ranking active Hawk in career points, with 352, and this places her 15th on the all-time Hawk list. Breanna Golding, who checks in at 303 points in just a year and a half of play, is in a position to move up the ranks quickly.
