MILES SIGNS WITH HUMBER VOLLEYBALL

ETOBICOKE, Ont – Women's volleyball head coach Chris Wilkins is pleased to announce the recent signing of right side hitter Danielle Miles for the upcoming 2017-18 Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) volleyball season.

"Danielle is someone who flew under the radar, but we were able to see her early in the club season," said Coach Wilkins, who owns a 317-41 (.880) career record in 17 years at Humber. "She is someone who I can see playing multiple positions and can help the team in many different ways."

Miles, who hails from Sydenham, Ontario, has enrolled in the Early Childhood Studies at the University of Guelph-Humber and will begin her studies this fall.

"I wanted the practical experience, as well as the theoretical background," said Miles, when asked why she chose the University of Guelph-Humber. "Additionally, Humber has an outstanding varsity volleyball program with an excellent coach, and I'm excited to continue my development as a volleyball athlete."

A star for her Sydenham volleyball team, Miles helped lead the Golden Eagles to two KASSAA volleyball championships, including an upset victory over the regular season champion Regiopolis Notre Dame in 2016.

"Danielle works hard, has a great attitude and I'm confident she will continue to grow with the Hawks next year and for years to come," added Coach Wilkins.

Miles, along with incoming recruits Alex Krstonosic, Nicole Collard, Alex Bartmann, and sisters Trinity and Jasmine Lougheed will join the rest of the Humber Hawks volleyball team on the first day of tryouts on September 5 at the North Campus Gym.
