HAWKS SCORE TEN IN ROUT OF SENECA

ETOBICOKE, ON: The Humber Hawks Men's Soccer team were not very pleased with their effort in their last game, so they committed to being better when they played the Seneca Sting.

The Hawks ended their winning streak with a disappointing tie against the last place George Brown Huskies over the weekend and they wanted to get the winning streak back underway against the last place Seneca Sting Tuesday afternoon.

The Sting hoped to forget the last meeting against Humber earlier this year, which saw the Hawks defeat them by a score of 5-2. After this match the Sting would just like to forget who the Humber Hawks are.

The first five to ten minutes of this game went in the favour of the Sting as they applied pressure and controlled the pace of play. This would be one of the only highs on the afternoon because shortly after the Hawks took over and never looked back.

It didn't take long for the Hawks to snap out of it before the onslaught ensued. Patrick Majcher opened the scoring for the Hawks, and the rest of his teammates followed the leader shortly after and often.

Other than the first five to ten minutes, Seneca didn't get anything going against the Hawks. They couldn't keep up with Humber's ball movement and the score line at halftime reflected that.

At halftime the score was 5-0 with Humber receiving two goals from Josh Paredes-Procter, one from Gerardo Magno and one from Jaineil Hoilett.

The Hawks came out in the second half and they did not take their foot off of the gas pedal. The Hawks added five more in the second half from three different goal scorers. Daniele Clemente added two goals along with Sonan Askndar who also added two.

The other lone goal came from the Hawks newest addition striker Luca Baldassarre. The striker made his Humber debut in style adding one goal and one assist in 45 minutes of play.

Alex Pothemont got the victory in goal for the Hawks. The Sting were able to get one by the big man with a beautiful strike from distance, but that would be the only ball to beat the goalkeeper who also made a great penalty save late in the second half.

The Hawks are now 6-0-1 on the season and took both games against Seneca this season. With the win the Hawks remain in first place with three games remaining in the regular season.

The Hawks next game is on Tuesday when they face the University of Toronto Mississauga at Centennial Park Stadium. Kick off in that game is at 4:30 p.m.
