ANDRE BROWN SIGNS CONTRACT WITH GCDW HERRSCHING

ETOBICOKE, Ont -- The list of former Humber Hawks playing professional sports continues to grow.

Former Hawks men's volleyball standout Andre Brown just signed his third professional contract, after concluding his playing career with Team Lakkapää in Finland.  The Mississauga native inked a deal with GCDW Herrsching in the Deutscher Volleyball-Verband.

Browne, a six-foot-nine middle and the tallest player on his new club, signed a one-year contract for the upcoming 2017-18 season to play for head coach Max Hauser.

A four-time OCAA league all-star, Brown played five seasons for the Hawks from 2009-14, finishing his career with 240 stuffed blocks, an OCAA record at the time.  In his third season, he helped the Hawks win the first national championship in program history and was named an all-star for his dominating net presence.

During his time at Humber, the Hawks won 75 regular season matches (.852 win percentage), and he helped the Hawks win four division titles, three provincial championships, and two CCAA medals.
