HAWKS FALL TO No. 4 MOHAWK IN SEASON FINALE

HAMILTON, Ont. – The Humber Hawks (10-8, 4th OCAA) men's volleyball program was swept by No. 4 Mohawk Mountaineers (16-2, 2nd West), 28-30, 18-25, 11-25, Wednesday at the David Braley Centre.

Playing in the final regular season match, the Hawks came out strong but tapered off after a tough 30-28 loss in the opening.

Offensively, second-year outside hitter Clayton Blanchette led the Hawks with 10 kills, while Adam Kinoshita finished with 20 assists.

Primed for an upset, the Hawks became their own worst enemy.  With 27 total team attack errors (a season-high for a three set match) and 12 service errors, Humber had trouble stringing together points and the fourth ranked program in the country took advantage.

The loss secures Humber's second consecutive season with a 10-8 record and now the Hawks will return to the court for an OCAA crossover match against La Cite (9-9, 5th West) on Saturday, February 18.  First serve is set  for 6pm and will be live streamed on the Hawks Sports Network.
