HAWKS KEEP PERFECT SEASON INTACT AGAINST GEORGE BROWN

By: E. Garro

ETOBICOKE, ON: After struggling to capitalize in their previous two games, the Humber Hawks used goals from three of their strikers to get past the George Brown Huskies 4-1 Wednesday night.

Humber has struggled to get out to quick starts this season but on Wednesday night the team jumped out to their best start this season.

20 minutes into the first half the Hawks took advantage of their chances and jumped out to a 2-0 lead.

Michael Aigbokie found the score sheet for the first time this season and Janeil Hoilett added to his goal total with his fifth this season.

Humber would continue to hold the lead but George Brown had an answer off a free kick that would just beat goalkeeper Karman Singh. It was the first goal Singh had allowed all season.

A third goal from Marcos Nunes put the Hawks up to a 3-1 lead just before half. However, the excitement wouldn't end there.

The Huskies were down a man early in the second half due to a red card and Nunes took advantage and added yet another goal.

With the two goals Nunes now sits at eight on the season, good enough for the team lead.

The Huskies came into this game right behind the Hawks in the standings which made this game that much more important.

With the win Humber has safely secured first place in the central division for the second year in a row with two games remaining in the season.

The Hawks next game is this Saturday when they travel to Oakville to take on their rivals the Sheridan Bruins. Kick-off is at 2 p.m. ET.
