DEFENDING NATIONAL CHAMPIONS HOST HUSKIES IN SEASON OPENER

A new season, new players, and new uniforms but the same goal for the defending men's soccer team: national gold.

The Humber Hawks men's soccer team will begin their quest as defending provincial and national champions Tuesday, when they host George Brown Huskies at Centennial Park Stadium.

Last season the Hawks finished the year as the treble winners, winning outdoor provincial and national gold, followed by indoor gold.

This season, the team will lean on its experienced recruits and veterans, including returning team captains, Gerardo Magno and Kingsley Boasiako. Both men are key players to help anchor the midfield and the back line.

Last season the two sides met twice with the Hawks coming out on top with a win and a tie. The tie was the only game that kept Humber from a perfect regular season.

George Brown finished fifth last year, missing out on the playoff round. One game in, the Huskies are off to a good start with a 3-1 win over Niagara College.

Stadium admission is free of charge and live streaming can be found here.

Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET.
