DEFENDING NATIONAL CHAMPS OPEN PRE-SEASON WITH VICTORY
VAUGHAN, ON: The Humber Hawks men's soccer team, defending CCAA National champions, hit the pitch for the first time this year with an exhibition tilt with the crosstown Centennial Colts. The result was a hard fought 5-4 win, with the match being played in an unusal three-30 minute quarters format.
The Hawks ran out to a 3-2 first half lead and built the lead to 5-2 after 60 minutes. With the line-ups changed significantly for the final session, it was the Colts who won the frame 2-0.
This was a good first tune-up for both teams, as they prepare for the Fall season.
Humber will now look to trim their roster, before the upcoming training camp at Blue Mountain next week.
