HAWKS SHUT DOWN UTM TO RECORD 2ND STRAIGHT VICTORY

ETOBICOKE, ON: Marcos Nunes got his name on the score sheet for the second straight game, but it was a trio of others who scored their first goals for the Hawks in a 4-0 Sunday afternoon win against the University of Toronto-Mississauga.

Marcos Nunes got his name on the score sheet for the second straight game, but it was a trio of others who scored their first goals for the Hawks in a 4-0 Sunday afternoon win against the University of Toronto-Mississauga.

The game got off to a rough start, a trend that carried over from last season whether it was from outdoor or indoor season.

The Hawks used their ability to move the ball around to take control early on in the game. Their ball movement whether it was moving it around the back or through the midfield was too much for UTM to handle.

It was first-year defender Jerome Smith who opened the scoring in the first half for the Hawks. Nunes slotted home his second of the season before the first half came to an end to give the Hawks a 2-0 lead just before halftime.

In the second half Humber brought in many of their newest players to get some playing time but it didn't affect the team at all.

It was first-year midfielder Lucas Scorzafave who scored from 30 yards out and not long after that his replacement Joe Tituana was able to find the net as well. Both goals were their first as Hawks.

It was second-year goalkeeper Karman Singh who recorded the shutout for the Humber Hawks.

Humber now improves their record to 3-0 all-time against UTM.

Humber will now prepare for Tuesday nights game when they host Niagara College at Centennial Park Stadium.

Kick off is at 6:30 p.m. ET
