HAWKS BATTLE THE TOP RANKED FALCONS IN LONDON

By Ashleigh Darrach

LONDON, ON: It's the battle of flight this weekend as the Humber Hawks men's volleyball team will take on the Fanshawe Falcons in London.

Humber is 9-7 in their season record so far this year, and Fanshawe is the first place holder in the West division at 14-2.

Last time the two crossed paths, Fanshawe won 3-1 at Humber in the Hawk's first loss of the season.

Clayton Blanchette had a total of 16 kills during the match and following closely behind was Nathan Murdock with 14.

With Codi Burton and Zac Cowl back from injury the Hawk's roster is a little fuller, and may provide an edge to this match up against the Falcons.

Humber made 28 digs in the last match-up, but couldn't stay with the Falcons who made a total of 44 digs during the match.

A few serving runs by the Hawks got them back into the game after some slow starts, and came up just short.

In order for the Hawks to be successful this weekend they will need to out-dig Fanshawe, and serve tough.

The first serve will take place at 3:00 pm on Saturday afternoon at the Fanshawe Athletic Centre.
