ETOBICOKE, ON: The Hawks have dropped their third straight match despite three great fights, that resulted in a win fort the Saints.

Humber kept up with the Saints throughout the first set. Middle Stefan Vukmanovic led the way with four kills while the Hawks fought neck and neck with the Saints. Though Humber showed flashes of intense offense though Vukmanovic and outside hitter Clayton Blanchette, Saint Clair was on a roll to keep the lead. The Saints were already celebrating with a 19-17 lead but the Hawks threw a wrench in their celebrations by tying it up at 21 points apiece. Blanchette slammed a kill right into centre court to get the Hawks fired up. Outside hitter Kingsley Boasiako notched a kill of his own but the Hawks couldn't complete the run. Saint Clair won the set 25-21 for their first win in two matches.

Saint Clair rode their high into the second set and were feeding off of Humber's frustrations for a five point streak. The Hawks got behind three more kills from Vukmanovic to get back into the match but the Saints were too confident through the final few points. Saint Clair dropped the Hawks again by a score of 25-21.

The Hawks were so close to extending the match to a fourth set. It was anyone's game when Humber came back to within one point of Saint Clair's 20 point lead thanks to a serving streak from left side Hayden McIntyre. Setter Rafael Galdamez came into the game and helped the Hawks with a three point serving streak that included an ace to tie the game at 23 points. Humber could smell the win but lost out to the Saints when they capitalized on a couple of short serves. The Hawks lost a heartbreaker to the Saints 25-23.

Humber goes on the road next weekend to take on the Boreal Vipers on Saturday 8 p.m. and the Cambrian Golden Shield on Sunday at noon.
