ETOBICOKE, ON: After beginning the season 3-0, the Humber Hawks have now lost two consecutive matches and find themselves hosting the defending the OCAA Champions Thursday night at the Humber Athletic Centre.
Two of the province's best outside hitters will be featured in this match as Humber's Nathan Murdock is currently ranked second in the OCAA averaging 4.6 points-per-game, while Niagara's Nathan Snippe ranks sixth averaging 4.0. Murdock, a freshman from Mississauga, has quickly become a force the Humber Hawks. At six-foot-four, Murdock is currently ranked sixth or better in kills (sixth), service aces (fourth), and points (fourth).
Over the last three seasons, these teams have been evenly matched, splitting the season series each year. Dating back to 1994 however, the Hawks have a 19-10 overall record against Niagara, including a dominant 12-2 record as the home team. In their last matchup at the Humber Athletic Centre, the Hawks cruised to a 3-1 win behind 31 points from former CCAA player of the year Terrel Bramwell. Snippe has a team-high 11 points for the Knights in the loss.

The Hawks are coming off a straight set loss to Mohawk, the only remaining undefeated team in the competitive OCAA west division. Despite the score, the Hawks had a chance to win every set, even losing the second set 30-28. Second-year middle Stefan Vukmanovic recorded his second double-digit scoring match of the season, finishing with 10 points.
