HAWKS SOLID IN 6-0 WIN AT HOME OVER GEORGE BROWN

VAUGHAN, ON: The Humber Hawks saw their record improve to 8-0-0 on the season by way of a 6-0 win at home over the fifth place George Brown Huskies (1-7-0).

As with the men's game earlier that night, the Hawk's women's squad scored early, as Hayley Mackie stayed hot with a tally at the 7:32 mark. Humber continued to control the play, but it was not until the 42nd minute before they extended the lead to 2-0 on a goal by Elysia Prasad. Once again, very similar to the men's game, Humber scored in injury time just before the half ended. It was star striker Rebecca Spratt with the goal.

It took 15 minutes before Humber upped the score to 4-0. Then 10 minutes later the scoreboard read 5-0. Both goals came off the foot of Claudia Piazza. Megan Voutour completed the scoring in the 89th minute.

Vanessa Fiore once again recorded the clean sheet for Humber.

The statistics at game's end:

SHOTS: Humber 34, George Brown 2
CORNERS: Humber 9, George Brown 2
SAVES: Humber 0, George Brown 12
FOULS: Humber4, George Brown 2

Humber will now host the Cambrian Golden Shield on Sunday afternoon at the OSA Soccer Centre in Vaughan. Kick-off is set for 12:00 noon.
