ATHLETICS SET TO REVEAL ITS TOP 50 ATHLETES
ETOBICOKE, Ont -- Few schools can boast such a deep and rich history in varsity athletics as Humber College. From the basketball court to the soccer pitch and beyond, the Hawks have produced a remarkable number of elite student-athletes.
To celebrate a half-century of Humber Athletics, the Department of Athletics and Recreation will be revealing its list of top 50 athletes in school history.
"The main impetus was to come up with a list that shows how rich our athletic history is across all sports," said athletic director Ray Chateau. "Ultimately we will be shining a light on 50 amazing people who left their mark on Humber College."
On Saturday, September 23, Athletics will be revealing the top student-athletes during a commemorative ceremony at the North Campus gymnasium in conjunction with its 50th anniversary celebration weekend.
Along with celebrating these athletes, one of the goals is to connect Humber's past with its current student base. The hope is that the top 50 athletes list will spark plenty of interesting debate throughout Hawks Nation.
The ceremony will begin at 11:00 am and will be followed by a barbecue.
