Morgan Voted First Team All-Star for the Second Straight Year

SARNIA – Humber Hawks forward Jaylan Morgan received First Team All-Ontario honours Thursday when the league announced its yearly awards, as determined by a polling of the conference's coaches.

Now a two-time honouree, "Mr. 300" helped the Hawks clinch the program's second straight division title and the program's 37th consecutive OCAA postseason berth. Morgan led the team in scoring once again, finishing with 357 points – the fifth most in program history. In only two seasons in the blue and gold, the Brampton native sits 11th all-time in scoring and joined George McNeil as the only players to ever score 300-plus points in a season for Humber, twice.

Morgan's signature moment of the season came in a home win over Mohawk on January 22. Morgan dropped a career-high 40 points on 15-of-17 shooting from the floor. The six-foot-five forward joined Dino Tenaglia and George McNeil as the only players in program history to record 40-plus points in a game.

Dating back to 1981, Humber basketball has received 46 first team all-star selections.

The end of the banquet marks the beginning of the 2020 OCAA Championship, hosted by Lambton College. No. 8 Humber's quarter-final matchup against Georgian is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Mar. 6. The live stream for the game can be found here.
