Bechard, Petronis Earn Humber Student-Athlete of the Week Honours
ETOBICOKE – Senior guard Amber Bechard and third-year guard Alex Petronis have earned Humber Athletics Student-Athlete of the Week honours for the week of Feb. 17 to Feb. 23.

On seniors night in front of family and friends, Amber Bechard hit the biggest shot of her Humber career. With three seconds remaining and trailing by one, Bechard received a pass in the key and spun towards the net surrounded by three Sheridan defenders. Her shot rolled around the rim and dropped as time expired, sending the gym into a frenzy. The basket clinched the West Division title for the Hawks for the sixth time in the Coach Sharma era.
The women's basketball team will return to action Feb. 29 in OCAA crossover action.

Alex Petronis played a big part in helping Humber defeat the Sheridan Bruins to conclude the regular season, 101-93. In a tight back-and-forth game, Petronis brought his high-energy to the court, sparking a late run to help the Hawks seal the victory that ultimately clinched the West Division title. Petronis stuffed the stat sheet in the second half, finishing with eight points, two rebounds, two assists, and two blocks.
