The Storyline
No. 8 Humber men's basketball (14-5, 2nd West) will wrap up the 2020 regular season Thursday morning when Sheridan (13-6, 4th West) visits the North Campus Gym. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. and will be streamed live on the Hawks Sports network.
Last Time Out
The Hawks concluded their final road trip with a 1-1 record, as Lambton snapped Humber's 13-game win streak. The Hawks responded in big-time fashion, racing past St. Clair in Windsor, 100-78. Humber improved to 92-0 all-time when scoring 100-plus points in regulation.
The Game'
The Humber/Sheridan game – considered by many as the fiercest rivalry in the CCAA – resumes Thursday for the 106th regular-season edition. Since 2000, these two programs have combined for 14 provincial championships and 27 combined titles since 1985.
In postseason play, Humber owns a 12-6 (.667) record against the Bruins, including a 55-51 win in the 2001 CCAA national title game.
Scouting Sheridan
- The Bruins have lost four games in the second semester.
- Nick Campbell is second in the league in scoring, averaging 24.1 PPG.
- Sheridan has won the last three meetings and seven of the last ten.
- Humber is 32-24 all-time against the Bruins at home.
Seniors Night
Five Humber players will be playing in their final regular-season game at the North Campus Gym. DeQuon Cascart, Jaylan Morgan, Cy Samuels, Micqueel Martin, and Khalid Adam will be honoured pre-game.
Reggie Miller
In Sunday's win over St. Clair, Fowzi Mohamoud set a new program record for three-pointers in a season. On Jan. 11, the Rexdale native became Humber's all-time three-point king.
Movin' On Up
DeQuon Cascart needs seven more points to surpass Henry Frazer for sixth place on Humber's all-time scoring list. 13 points will move DQ into fifth place.
A League of their Own
Jaylan Morgan joined Humber superstar George McNeil as the only players in program history to score 300-plus points in a season, twice.
Board Man Gets Paid
Cy Samuels sits nine rebounds away from joining Tyrone Dickson as the only players to grab 200-plus boards in a season for Humber.
What's Next?
With a win, Humber basketball will host a 2020 OCAA crossover game Feb. 29 at the North Campus Gym. Game time and the opponent have yet to be determined.
